Shelf Life

Amazingly your average shop bought cake can easily have a shelf life of one year! And the average cake manufacturer can only achieve this with preservatives. Here are some of the typical ingredients our competitors may use…

  • E450i disodium diphosphate
  • E500ii sodium hydrogen carbonate
  • E330 citric acid
  • E472e mono and diacetyl tartaric acid esters of diglycerides
  • E415 xanthan gum
  • E412 guar gum
  • E435 polyoxyethylene sorbitan monostearate
  • E341iii tricalcium phosphate

They don’t sound so tasty do they? So we don’t use ANY preservatives.

Instead we prefer to use other ingredients like real fruit, and pure organic chocolate. In fact ALL our ingredients are organic and natural. We don’t manufacture cakes, we bake them, naturally.

Consequently our cakes will stay perfectly edible for up to two weeks. However our cakes are high quality cakes made with high quality ingredients, and we want them to be enjoyed in that high quality state. So we recommend a shelf life of up to three days.

But there’s more good news, you can enjoy our cakes fresh as they were intended, as we deliver freshly baked cakes directly to you.
