Our Ingredients
We are often
told that “your cakes are the best I’ve ever tasted”.
There are many
reasons for this; our tried and tested recipes and the effort and
expertise put in to baking them, but the real secret (if you can
keep one) is the quality of the ingredients.
It’s logical
really, when you think about it, any cake is essentially a combination
of the ingredients that make it up.
It therefore
follows that if you use regular ingredients… you get a regular cake.
So…
We don’t use
any colourings and artificial flavourings, as we don’t want artificial
flavours. We want you to taste the natural flavours of quality flours
and butters, fine chocolates, real cheeses, fresh herbs, and fresh
fruit and so on. Because they actually taste better than artificial
flavourings… and they are better for you!

We
don’t use margarine, only butter. And not any old butter, organic
butter selected for its flavour.
In
our recipes that use chocolate we only use the range of Green and
Blacks Organic chocolates. It costs a little more but it’s a high
quality organic fairtrade chocolate known for it's intense flavours.

We
won’t go on and list all our ingredients, but we’re sure you get
the idea. And the result is that you really can taste the difference.
As you would expect!
